Samsung Electronics / HDTVs

Samsung had a program supporting independent filmmakers, since a lot of what is viewed on the home TV is movies. The Blueseat.com campaign was a promotion offering contestants tickets to the best seats in the house at Landmark and other independent theaters. The analogy is that with a Samsung HDTV, you always had the best seat in the theater. The theaters were retrofitted with 2 blue chairs right in the center of the theater. Contest winners sat in those seats and won other prizes as well. These two videos were shown in the theater before the show. There was a print component as well.

Samsung’s HDTV’s are top of the line, in every way. They’re innovators in many areas in this category. We created a sunset made of crayons to illustrate Samsung’s latest HDTV, which has more colors than any previous TV. Not just more vibrant color, but literally, more colors.

The introduction of AMOLED was a game-changer and we needed to convey the visceral experience of seeing it for the first time. Posters with ‘eye popping’ graphics to illustrate the experience of looking at an AMOLED mobile screen.

The addition of SWYPE texting was a fun feature and we wanted to make it fun for users as well. Brand Ambassadors did demos of swype texting technology. Contestants who entered the contest had to swype certain words within a time limit. Prizes were given in each group of five participants, and free phones were given in each city's final round.

Super-sized Samsung exclamation points were placed around Los Angeles in high-traffic locations. An RFID message told consumers what and where to send a text. They won 'exclamation points' toward a prize.
